Presbyterian Church, Lawrence
First Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) of Lawrence, KS seeks a
Music Director who will oversee and plan music for worship, direct the Chancel
Choir in participation at the 11:00 AM service on Sunday, coordinate music and
soloists for the 8:30 AM service, lead the Chancel Choir in Wednesday night
rehearsals, and oversee a program that also includes a children’s choir and
bell choir.
The successful candidate will have a desire to serve God
through music, professional training as a choir director and singer with a
bachelor and/or graduate degree that includes advanced study in both areas and
skills commensurate with such training, possible expertise as a pianist and/or
organist, leadership and communication skills, and an understanding of worship
and musical practices in a traditional Protestant church.
This is a part-time position that will average 8-10 hours
per week. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
